I was born in this beautiful jugendstil build villa from 1905 in the heart of the 800 year old university City of Groningen. The old photo is the one my mom had from 1963, the new one show the monumental villa restored. The interior is with many different marbles from France, Germany and Italy and the villa has glas-in-lead jugendstil windows around.
Nowadays it has temporary art exhibits.
When I read the sampler was named gems of the past, I thought of this beautiful gem.

That is very cool. The layout is cool but the subject matter is really amazing as well. Such history....there's nothing amazing about where I was born. It's a closed down hospital now. :(
