Memorial and Independence Day

Today is Israel's memorial day of it almost 23.000 fallen soldiers. My husband's grandfather is one of them. He carries the same name as my hubby. He was together with his younger brother the sole survivor of his family who all perished in the Holocaust. He fell during Israel's struggle for Independence. He was just 29 years old. His only child, my father in law, was a toddler.

So remembering him and the thousands of other fallen soldiers.

Tonight the celebrations start for Israel's 62nd Indpendence Day tomorrow (free day from school and work!). Traditionally families have barbeques outside, so we might have one too :) The weather is lovely, it's warm enough for shorts, so hopefully it will be a great day!

Zoveel mensen gestorven...... Vreselijk!
Wat een mooie foto's heb je geplaatst.
Israel mag straks vieren dat het al 62 jaar onafhankelijk is.
Het is Gods oogappel!
Ik wens je een fijne viering.
Lieve groet van Ester
