We took Bettie to the Vet today as she is loosing weight and drinking all the time. At first I thought it's the heat. All our cats are sleeping all day, go out in the night and drink a lot as it is very hot here, but Bettie...she just didn't look right. The vet did a bloodtest and found she has a kidney infection and must stay in the pet clinic till friday at least. Than he can tell us if she will make it (and for the rest of her life on special kidney diet) or else.. I am so worried for her.
update friday August 20
The vet called and said there is no change in her bloodlevels (urea is very high), she is still with an IV and will be hospitalised at least till sunday.

I am sorry that your kitty is ill. I have two housecats and know how they become a part of you. Hope to hear good news about her in the near future. Love the post about the quill and ink well. Sounds like something I would like to try.
