Goodbye little friend

One of our cats taken in from the street had a kidney problem (as many cats do) and we took care he got enough to drink and special food. It seemed to be stable (he has been with us for many years) but all of the sudden a couple of weeks ago he started to loose weight. We had it before with four other cats, weeks, months of daily IVs and suffering and in the end they died nevertheless leaving us with huge vet bills. We talked about it, if we wanted for him also such a prolonged suffering, but he took the decision from us by disappearing. I searched a week for him and today he came back home. I came home from work and he was laying moaning next to the front door, very thin, very ill. I wrapped him in a blanket and took him to the vet who said there was nothing that could be done anymore to save him and so we put him to sleep. It was the best for him, but it was so sad.

RIP Leben. Until the Rainbow bridge.

Oh, I'm so sorry. The only fault of dogs and cats is their short little lives. Your kitty was lucky to have a good home and a kind, loving family. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad, sad time. XO
